CI 201: Technology Portfolio.

Spring 2016

Hello! My name is Hannah Chute and I am a student at Iowa State University aspiring to be a future educator. I hope to inspire the next generation of students by teaching in an elementary school and helping my students reach their full potential. I am a sophomore and have already delved into curriculum to help me go the extra mile and be a great teacher. I previously attended a small Catholic high school which gave me an incredible experience and prepared me for college. My hobbies include running, swimming, writing, and spending time with my family and friends. Over the summers, I intern at a math learning center helping students develop stronger core math skills. I plan to graduate from Iowa State in the Spring of 2018 with a degree in Elementary Education with Engligh/Lanuage Arts and Reading endorsements. I also played basketball for 13 years and plan to coach at the school where I am teaching. Delving into the community in which I teach will be vital for me as a role model to my class. I have always loved being involved in various clubs and cannot wait to expand my leadership to the professional and local community.

All About Me

As a teacher, it is my passion and responsibility to guide my students to reach their full potential; I am prepared to be a lifelong learner myself. My students’ attitudes and progress are a direct reflection of me. I will commend my students’ perseverance rather than commend them on being “smart”. I want to be the teacher who encourages ALL of my students to accomplish a difficult task, who makes a difference in a child’s life, and who is a trustworthy support system for the class. I am motivated to teach my students necessary knowledge and give them real world application. In order to do this, I will engage my students with interactive activities, group work, and service learning. My classroom management plan will allow my students to have a safe and effective learning environment where questions and collaboration will be encouraged. I will innovate technology with my lesson plans so my students will be prepared for later years and understand the value technology adds to their creativity. My class will be inspired to continue learning through personal reflection and research which I will model for them daily while instructing.
